A vital aspect of the mission of St Andrew’s School is to transform the minds of tomorrow’s leaders, and it is our expectation that a key reflection of this education is seen in all students making excellent academic progress. Grades at (I)GCSE and A Level make a difference to the lives of our students and we are committed to seeking the highest for every individual, along with being entirely transparent around achievements across the School.
We would like to congratulate our students on their efforts in the 2023 examinations, with 76% of GCSE and A Level grades achieving or exceeding the CAT target grades that students were set. While results days inevitably bring some great joy and others disappointment, we would like to commend this year’s cohort in particular knowing the disruption they had to their learning earlier on in their time at the Senior School.
Of course, behind the data are many individual stories, from the student who worked hard to pass their English and Mathematics GCSEs, to the student awarded an A* in all of their A Level subjects now studying at the University of Cambridge. Indeed, seeking the highest for each individual means we assess the value added for each student, as much as the raw statistics published below.
