Our Purpose
The educational philosophy of St Andrew’s School, Turi focuses on creating independent, lifelong learners.
We have high academic expectations of the pupils and expect them to put as much effort into their co-curricular activities.
Academic excellence, engaging co-curricular programmes, commitment to pastoral care, emphasis on leadership and, above all, Christian living leads to our students’ great academic achievement, personal development and independence.
Developing Leaders
St Andrew’s Turi believes that in order for our students to thrive in whatever sphere of life they choose, they need to not only have qualifications but also the faith, character and personal skills to make a difference.
Developing leaders starts from a young age, At the Prep School the Leader in Me programme is incorporated into the everyday life of pupils. There is emphasis on Service. They regularly visit schools and charities to assist those less fortunate than they are.
At the Senior School. leadership skills are honed through involvement in the Round Square programme, which emphasises key values and provides practical opportunities.
At the Sixth Form College students go through a structured two year leadership programme (Turi Leadership Award) which teaches professional leadership skills and culminates in a university accredited qualification. It is designed to build and mould the next generation of leaders, who have integrity and a vision for Africa.
