Scholarships
The school is committed to supporting and nurturing the many talents of our students. Scholarships are awarded for excellence in academia, sport, art, music and all round performance. Turi Scholarships provide a 10% – 20% reduction to full fees and are awarded based on assessments and the Headmasters discretion. They are available at Senior School for students in Years 9 (age 14); meaning assessments take place in Years 7 & 8.
Scholarship assessments are run annually and offer potential scholars (both internal and external) a chance to take part in a series of challenging activities that showcase their skills. Activities are designed to examine specific areas of excellence as well as academic , personal maturity, team work, leadership and presentation skills.
When a student applies for a scholarship it is possible for parents to apply for a means-tested bursary in connection with that scholarship to support the payment of school fees.
The true value of a scholarship lies in the extra opportunities that will stretch and challenge your child, both academically and beyond the classroom.
Scholars are offered a dedicated programme of enrichment and extension events throughout the year such as lecture series, academic conferences, masterclasses, extra musical tuition, sports coaching. There may be opportunities to perform or compete at high profile events, have a personal mentor, and attend distinguished events such as Scholars’ Question Time and Scholars’ Suppers.
Bursaries
Bursaries differ from scholarships, they are means-tested awards given to help support families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford some or all of the school fees.
To qualify, parents must demonstrate financial need and undertake full and complete financial disclosure.
