Super Science Sunday

The fourth and last Super Science Sunday of the year was presented by Mr Jamie Scammells on 22nd April. Over supper and into the evening he explored the science of music using his guitar, a signal generator and a computer. While discussing reverberation in the instrument and the musician as a component of sound quality he attempted the famous demonstration of shattering a wine glass using sound.

Unfortunately this did not work but we will try again next year using an even more expensive glass. The highlight however, was when the twenty students in attendance tried to define what music is!
