Religious Studies

This term Year 8 are exploring Islam. As the world’s second largest religion and one represented within our own student body it is very important for pupils to learn about the core beliefs and practices of Islam.

Pupils have had the opportunity to look at what the Qur’an says on topics such as what can and cannot be eaten, how Muslims should dress, they had been able to explore the effect of requirements such as dietary rules and regulated prayer times on the lives of Muslims and have been able to experience artifacts and try different methods of identifying the direction of Mekkah.
