Since taking on the role of Head of Design and Technology last year, Miss Sarah Curry has been looking at ways to improve the delivery and provision of the subject. With textiles and food being catered for in two large established rooms her initial job was to review the Design Technology Curriculum.

 
In addition to introducing electronics and product design, Miss Curry felt that the subject also needed an area where resistant materials could be delivered. After several meetings with the headmaster, it was agreed that the existing classroom would be expanded by knocking down the wall to the adjacent office. This has created space for a workshop and the opportunity for all pupils to expand their skills and knowledge in the area of resistant materials.
 
Currently, work is still ongoing, but by the next VISO we will be looking forward to inviting our parents into the new Design and Technology Room to experience the transformation.
