Why LAMDA?
LAMDA stands for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. It is a thrilling experience, helping pupils to express themselves in creative and powerful ways. While reciting verses and prose can be tedious, when imagination and creativity is added, it becomes a truly exciting and magical experience! Through their LAMDA sessions, pupils have gained incredible skill in communication, including the subtle but extremely important art of public speaking.
“In LAMDA you will learn how to send a message to an audience and talk in a large room with confidence. You might not think this is something that can be taught but, somehow, you gain confidence through the experience”, said Sandra Mogeni, a LAMDA student.
The pupils taking Lamda have in the past assessment performed well with the results being 93% passing with Merit or Distinction. The enrollment of the optional extra is now at 69 students from Year 1 to Year 8. The term lesson focus this term has is the development of skill with emphasis on voice, context and diction.
