Each year Turi students have the opportunity to take part in exciting trips abroad, the most recent being a Senior School music tour to Japan. Our students joined forces with Japanese schools to perform six musical recitals, one to an audience of 1000 people. While in Japan, students represented Kenya in the annual ‘African Festival’ in Yokohama, which was broadcast on national TV and radio. They were also able to sample Japanese food, observe cultural traditions and experience life in one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. The tour enabled students to grow in terms of personal responsibility, cultural awareness, as well as musicianship. See Video.
