The St Andrew’s athletes made the trip down to Greensteds last weekend, to compete in the annual IAPS athletics meeting. Team Turi was looking to improve on their performances at the Kasarani athletics meeting earlier in the year where they finished a disappointing sixth. The competition was stiff with ten of the top schools from around Kenya participating. However, each and every Turi athlete gave their best and the hard work during training paid off with improved performances by many pupils.

Many of the Turi athletes brought home medals from the event with St Andrews final medal tally as follows:

• Gold – 6
• Silver – 9
• Bronze – 11

Our girls in particular had a very strong day, finishing third in the overall standings. This helped the team tremendously towards achieving their goal and Turi finished the day third overall, a fantastic team performance.  Well done to all our athletes!!
