Enabling Enterprise

This term we have launched Enabling Enterprise in the Prep School. Enabling Enterprise is an award-winning not-for-profit social enterprise; their mission is to equip young people with the skills, experiences and aspirations they need to succeed in life.

We have run three projects over the term; Number Crunching with a range of KS2 and KS3 pupils, Brilliant Books with KS2 pupils and School of Design with all the KS1 boarders. The Brilliant Books team have come up with an idea of how to promote reading in the Prep School through a visual map display. Jacob in Y6 has been a key part of this team and says, “I think Brilliant Books has helped me with teamwork and pushed me to work harder. I have really enjoyed it.”

This project has focused on developing the students problem solving, listening skills and how to share ideas. The Number Crunchers have been developing a new chocolate brand in teams focusing on shape and space whilst designing and creating sustainable packaging. I look forward to being a taste taster at the end of their project! The Number Crunchers have been honing their problem solving, leading and imaginative skills.

Our KS1 designers have been working on their creativity by designing an area of their dream school – it looks very similar to Turi! Thy have focused on improving using their imagination, aiming high and leading. Enabling Enterprise has been a great success so far and we look forward to running new projects next term.
