College Scholarship Weekend
Last weekend over 25 Year 11 students took part in a variety of assessments and interviews that will lead to the award of a range of academic, sports and arts scholarships for next year’s College entry.
Candidates for academic scholarships were invited to give a short presentation on their passion to the Headmaster and Deputy Head Academic, take part in a teamwork group activity and complete a cognitive ability test. The standard of application this year was extremely high and the Headmaster was intrigued by the range of subjects chosen – from positivity to visual arts, further maths to helping the helpless and from marine biology to cultural diversity to list just a few.
It was a long day for both candidates and their interviewers but it was deeply encouraging to see how many of our students are not only aspiring to the highest academic standards but also aspiring to a life of leadership and service where they can effect genuine change for good in their respective countries. They should all be very proud of their performance and the people they are growing up to be.
