Christmas Candlelit Service 2016

On 4th December, the Prep School held what is arguably one of the best Christmas Candlelit Services in the recent past. The service started with a wonderful solo from Jack Youlten leading the congregation in our first carol, ‘Once in Royal David’s City’. This was followed by an Introit by the Phoenix Choir, with a beautiful rendition of ‘Do you Hear What I Hear’ sang in 3 part harmony which set the mood for the rest of the evening of deep reflection and awe of Christ’s coming.

The ‘Little Singers Choir’ comprising of all Year 1 & 2 then performed ‘Rock a-bye baby Rock!’ with such confidence that would put any adult choir to shame. This was followed by the Junior Choir, Middle School Choir, Staff Choir and Chapel Choir all passionately performing their stories of Christ’s birth. Among all these choir items were two whole congregational pieces, Christmas carols and lessons that were read by pupils, parents and staff.
