Chaplaincy Updates
This term, Nairobi Baptist Church visited Turi and with them came a very well-orchestrated programme of joy and laughter. This spurned from the fact that this particular group of people were ranging between 19 and 22 years and they are leaders of the youth groups at ‘Bapo’. Their musical ensemble was excellent and they entertained students with their unique acapella renditions of local and international gospel music.
The hype generated during C.U. on Friday, carried on into Sunday as they got the somewhat temperamental Turi crowd up on their feet and dancing. More impressively they got students down on their knees and emptying out into the the aisles seeking Jesus and many of them walked out of the Sayer Hall a little more reflective. The magnetism of their sermons was unmistakable as it involved Turi students up on stage playing games or very endearing shout-outs to students they had familiarised with during their stay at the school. Overall, their presence embodied the godly brotherhood that is to exist between us as Christians and they have left their mark in our hearts.
