Careers Fair
The Senior School held its inaugural Careers Fair on Friday 18th November. The Fair was organised by the School’s Careers & University Advisor, Mrs Sally Andwati. At the previous VISO she had encouraged parents to offer their expertise to support students as they consider their career futures. There was a great take-up by parents in response to Mrs Andwati’s appeal and so we were able to run our very first Careers Fair aimed at Year 11-13 students.
The fair ran in the Sayer Hall from 4:30-5:30pm and students were able to find out about a variety of careers including medicine, sales and economics. Students interested in journalism were offered a presentation from Mr Agoe who works as a journalist for the humanitarian arm of the UN and due to start a new posting in Darfur, Sudan.
It was a well-attended occasion offering our students much food for thought and I’m sure will raise new questions as they consider how they will translate their passions and talents into the world of work.
