Baba Yetu – St Andrew’s School, Turi Chapel Choir
For the past five years, St Andrew’s Prep School has come out shining at the festival with outstanding performances that have been second to none, leaving the audience awestruck. We have since decided to use this festival as a platform to minister to our fellow musicians – this is the reason behind choosing repertoire that is in Praise and Worship of our King.
The song choice, Christopher Tin’s ‘’Baba Yetu,’’ was perfect in style to display the vocal abilities and synchronised dance moves of the choir. A small ensemble of five sang the solo section which would normally be done by a tenor… and did so at pitch! – what an amazing feat by 13 year old girls.
As well as this, our Phoenix Girls Choir performed a wonderful rendition of Dona Nobis by Mary Lynn Lightfoot. The Choir did not disappoint on any front and were as always… OUTSTANDING!
