2017 Braeburn Kasarani Athletics
On the 24th November, the St Andrew’s Senior School students participated in the 2017 Braeburn Kasarani Athletics at Braeburn Garden Estate in Nairobi.
We began the competition in good spirits, and on the day there were many outstanding performances; Kudakwashe of year 10 broke the discus record winning gold in the Under 15 Boys competition while Chiamaka also in year 10 came first in the Under 15 Girls 200 meters sprint. Enosata, a year 10 student, came first in the Under 15 Girls 400 meters dash and Janine of year 9 won the Under 15 Girls Triple Jump.
The Under 15 Boys team including Edimaobong, Fikunola, Michael and Oluwatofope, delivered and excellent performance, coming top in the 200 meters event. Yet more wins for Turi were Elvin-Paul’s victory in the Under 15 Boys Triple Jump and James’ impeccable performance in the Under 19 Boys 200 meters competition in which they both came first.
The Under 15 Boys and Girls and Under 19 Boys teams all finished second in their age categories propelling St Andrew’s Senior School to 3rd place in the overall competition.
