Under 13 boys and girls Football
The third week of the Easter Term saw the first football fixtures for the under 13 boys and girls teams against local school Molo Academy. The girls played both an A and a B team fixture with the A team winning 1-0, with a well taken goal in the first half from Deborah Iheanacho.
The Molo team threatened in the second half but were unable to break through the solid Turi defence, with Kidiavai Luvai playing a prominent role at the back. The B team fought hard but conceded an early goal and despite showing plenty of skill were unable to draw back level and went down 0-1.
The under 13 boys had a tightly contested match. The match started well, with Turi seeing the majority of the possession in the opening 20 minutes of the match. A half time score line of 0-0 probably flattered Molo, but they were quick off the mark in the second half and soon took the lead. The equaliser was not long in coming, with Finlay Foster striking an excellent long range free kick, which bounced in the penalty area, and may or may not have had a touch from Lawrence Mutua or Zebulan Byaruhanga before beating the keeper to make it 1-1. After going behind again to another good Molo attack, Lawrence Mutua made a good finish from an excellent team attack, making the final score 2-2.
There is plenty of football to look forward to in the weeks ahead with friendlies scheduled against Turi Sulgwita and Greensteds.
