Encouraging Creativity

Renowned for the high quality of our performing arts, our pupils are encouraged to identify and develop their individual creative talents through art, music and drama.

In Art, pupils can experiment and develop their skills in many mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and digital media. Art initiatives have included exhibitions in Nairobi, murals to decorate the School and community projects, as well as the painting of sets for school productions.

The School has a strong musical tradition. In addition to the many and varied opportunities for music within the core curriculum, many pupils opt for specialist instrumental tuition in a wide range of instruments, Orchestral weekends, musical concerts, and choir performances feature prominently in the school calendar. High calibre music teachers tutor many pupils across a whole range of instruments. Our ABRSM track record is exceptional and a credit to both our pupils and their teachers.

Drama wears many masks at Turi. Pupils are actively encouraged to discover and develop their acting talent through speech and drama (LAMDA) tuition, international drama trips and by taking part in the annual school productions. Pupils develop confidence and skills in public speaking - performing and communicating in a variety of settings.
